Human "estrogen" is actually composed of three steroid hormones --- estrone (E1), beta-estradiol (E2), and estriol (E3), hence the use of the pleural noun "estrogens." Estradiol is the most physiologically active estrogen in non-pregnant women. Its potency is 12 times that of estrone and 80 times that of
estriol.

Increased libido
Estrogen has the beneficial effect of preservation of bone mass in post-menopausal women. Used in combination with natural progesterone, estrogen replacement therapy (ERT)
can help women avoid the risk of hip fractures and loss of
height due to collapse of the vertebral bones in the spine.
